How much is a heap of New York City trash worth to you?
$10? $25? $50? The increasing price point shows just how much that trash is demand IF it’s packaged to sell.
Justin Gignac came up with the novel idea to prove a point. A well-designed package can sell just about anything. He started selling pieces for $10. Now a cube goes for $50.
I did a little research and it looks like NPR did a story on the idea last year. Check it out here. It’s worth a listen.
Gignac is also behind another concept with his girlfriend. They create paintings of things they would like to have and sell the painting for the price of the item depicted. So far a series of their paintings have financed a trip to Las Vegas. One of their silly ideas? dirty underwear. And something very practical? One month’s rent! What smarties!
