I have to admit that in the last several months I’ve been on a sappy chic flick movie watching spree, watching the girliest of girly movies. What can I say, part of me will never outgrow the genre.
Throw Matt Damon into the mix and free admission, heck I’ll step away from my Netflix queue no questions asked.
Thanks to my well-connected friend, we headed to a screening of Damon’s latest movie “The Adjustment Bureau” hosted by the Producers Guild at a theater in Beverly Hills Thursday night.
I didn’t know quite what to expect. Was it a romance? A drama? A suspense? I’d have to agree with the moderator who led the Q&A session with the producers following the screening: It’s an existentialist movie with a tender heart.
There were no ridiculous special effects gimmicks like making the movie in 3D or an unimaginative story line… If Morgan Freeman played the role of god in this movie I would have been instantly turned off.
The chemistry between Damon and his costar Emily Blunt was a little unbelievable at first, but toward the end, there are fireworks. They made a great pair.
If you’re a girl in the market for a movie with smart dialogue, gripping plot points and some romance, this feel-good flick is just the thing for you.
I know I’m being very vague, but I don’t want to give anything way! Just go see it.
