Review: Gap 1969 Always Skinny Jeans in Petite

November 19th, 2013 · No Comments · shopping

Confession: I’ve been a bit of a shopaholic lately… okay, let’s be honest, all year! In an effort to justify these habits, I figured I’d spread some goodwill and share my thoughts. Perhaps some fellow shopaholics can benefit from my hits and misses. First up: These 1969 always skinny jeans in medium wash from the Gap. Gap_1969_always_skinny_jeans_2

I love the overall fit. They’re skinny, but not constricting. They are about two inches too long, but that’s easily remedied by cuffing them or folding them under. As far as the wash and fade, the combination makes it a great piece for everyday casual-wear. There are two small details I’m not loving. I’ve noticed the waistline in the back bunches up from sitting down so it requires adjusting. Second, the back pockets are not proportional to my seat. They’re too big, and not flattering. It’s not a deal breaker, but I’ve got an eye for details so I notice these things.

From time to time, they do go on sale. I had been eyeing them for awhile and finally made the purchase with a 35-percent discount when Gap had their Friends and Family sale.  Be sure to check for promo codes before purchasing. FYI: Today is final day of “MERRY” 35-percent off discount code!
