5-4-3-2-1: Go!

If I had a flower for each time I thought about starting this blog, I’d have a field of them. Time to stop thinking and just go for it.

For the past several years Instagram is where I’ve enjoyed telling my stories. Now that I have more energy for a creative practice, I’m excited to expand my platform. I’ll blog about daily life navigating the path of health and well-being, my experiences living abroad in Canada, helpful resources and creative moments of inspiration.

I’ve named this space The Storytellers Retreat, inspired by a creative writing workshop that I created for the breast cancer community. It involves a series of heart-opening questions and instructions to answer them for yourself, no one else. I’m bringing that safe space spirit to my blog.

My hope is that you’ll be empowered to examine your own story, and for women diagnosed with breast cancer, to see that thriving is possible after a diagnosis.

Some fun facts about how The Daily Lindsey has evolved:

💄 I started my blog in 2014 as a companion for my (very small but fun) YouTube channel. Back then I shared my excitement discovering how fun it was to play with makeup and experiment with my style.

🍈 I changed course when I was diagnosed with breast cancer for a second time. I had spent my first diagnosis in 2015 too worried about oversharing, and I decided that holding it in wasn’t an option anymore. I made my IG a microblog to serve as an outlet for my thoughts and feelings. Having a safe space to share became an invaluable part of healing and I connected with young women who were going through the same thing. There is so much power in knowing you’re not alone on this path.

🎉 As I’ve been in preventative maintenance mode for the past four years, I’ve shared my health milestones and wins on social media to show others what a life after cancer treatment can look like, and to work through many of the issues cancer left it its wake. Areas like body image, self-confidence, learning how to create boundaries and managing the side-effects from treatment and medication.

🕺🏻Now you’ll see me dancing, sharing a lippy of the day or my favorite outfit, working on my fitness, enjoying my creative projects and talking about the heart-work of daily life.

Glad you’re here! More soon.
